About Me
- Kurt Hohenstein
- Kurt Hohenstein graduated from the University of Nebraska and University of Nebraska College of Law. He received his PhD in History from the University of Virginia. He specializes in United States legal, constitutional and political history. His article, "Just What the Doctor Ordered: The Harrison Anti-Narcotic Act, the Supreme Court and the Federal Regulation of Medical Practice" won the Hughes-Gossett Award from the Supreme Court Historical Society for 2001. During his graduate school career, he served as a Research Assistant for the National Commission on Election Reform. Kurt teaches classes on history, law and politics at UCLA-X. His current work includes The Convention, a political novel about a runaway Constitutional convention. He has written several movie scripts, including Triangle, an award winner and his newest script, "Funeral for the Crows." He is working on several books, a reflection on life and justice, "Long Time Down" and on the past and future of the American way of life, "American Elegiac." He lives and works on the family farm in Homer, Nebraska, and in Los Angeles, California, with his two Boston Terriers.
